This year's race will be held on April 26-27, 2025 (Saturday & Sunday). The race includes two categories: MTR’s Student Race and Challenger Race. Participants will visit various locations across Hong Kong within a time limit to record the highest number of bird species. Winners will have exciting prizes, including binoculars of ZEISS, MINOX, and OPTISAN! To encourage birdwatching beginners, this year’s race offers a 50% special discount for tertiary students!

The year's theme is "Finding Spoon-billed Sandpiper", hoping to raise public awareness for this globall critically endangered species with fewer than 500 individuals worldwide. In the past, Spoon-billed Sandpipers were consistently recorded in Deep Bay every spring. However, in 2023 and 2024, there were no sightings of this species throughout the entire year—the first time this has happened since 2002.
