[Baseline Study of Avifauna along South Lantau Coast is Published!]

As the largest island in Hong Kong, Lantau Island boasts a rich ecosystem. What bird species can be found on the island?

Funded by the Lantau Conservation Fund, The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society conducted a two-year bird study from 2021 to 2023 in South Lantau at Shui Hau, Pui O, Shap Long, and Fan Lau. The study also included study on the disturbance of human activities towards shorebirds at Shui Hau sandflat, and the application of passive acoustic monitoring in bird surveys.
