During harvest season, the golden paddy fields fill the air with the fragrance of rice, accompanied by the delightful chirping of birds and the buzz of cicadas in summer, creating a multi-sensory experience. Do you want to escape from the city clamor temporarily, experience farming, and connect with nature?
We sincerely invite you to participate in our Farming Experience Workshop on June 28th (Saturday). The workshop includes a Shui Hau ecological guided tour and a demonstration of crop harvesting techniques by local Shui Hau farmers. You will also get to personally try harvesting water caltrops or rice, experiencing the joy of ecological observation and farming.
//Southern Lantau boasts picturesque scenery and abundant natural resources, creating a unique ecological environment. Shui Hau Village, with over 300 years of history, is nestled within this area. Since December 2021, the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society, with the support of Shui Hau villagers and funding from the Lantau Conservation Fund, has been conducting habitat management work in Shui Hau for over three years, successfully revitalising Shui Hau rice.//
