[Mai Po Boardwalk Birdwatching Tour]

You might have heard about the Mai Po boardwalk, but what’s the magic that attracts birdwatchers every year during this season to watch migratory waterbirds?

Stepping into the spring migration season, we are thrilled to present the Mai Po Boardwalk Birdwatching Tour, led by our professional researcher Jay. In this tour, you will explore the Deep Bay mudflats and uncover the secrets of this waterbird hotspot or might even spot birds in their breeding plumage!

The bird species recorded during the tour will also be shared to you to keep track of your birdwatching records.

Date: March 22, 2025 (Saturday)
Time: 09:00 AM – 15:00 PM
Location: Mai Po Nature Reserve and Mai Po Frontier Closed Area
Fee: Members $650; Non-members $780
Quota: 20 people (limited quotas, first come first served)
Eligibility: Open to the public aged 12 and above (participants aged 12 to 15 must be accompanied by a parent)

Difficulty: 4/5 stars (suitable for the public)
Language: Cantonese
Route: Mai Po Nature Reserve (mainly flat paths, with some slopes and steps; the instructor may adjust the route based on the actual situation)

Note: Participants need to bring their own binoculars.

Adverse Weather Arrangements
- If the Hong Kong Observatory issues an amber, red, or black rainstorm signal or a tropical cyclone warning signal no. 3 or above two hours before the event assembly time, the activity will be canceled. If a tropical cyclone warning signal no. 1 and a thunderstorm warning are in effect, the decision to change or cancel the event will be made based on the actual situation.
- If the event is canceled due to adverse weather, HKBWS will contact participants within 3 working days to arrange a refund.

Cancellation Policy
- If a participant withdraws due to illness on the day of the activity, they must submit a medical certificate to the organization to apply for a refund. Otherwise, unless the activity is canceled due to inclement weather, no refunds will be issued for withdrawals under other circumstances.
- HKBWS reserves the final decision-making authority on all arrangements.
- By submitting the activity registration, participants indicate that they have read and agree to comply with the "Birdwatching and Bird Photography Code of Conduct."
