緬甸撣邦南部黃胸鵐族群研究及社區參與 2024/25

香港觀鳥會亞洲自然保育基金2024-25所支持的「緬甸撣邦南部黃胸鵐族群研究及社區參與」項目於2025年5月順利完成。研究團隊在緬甸撣邦南部展開系統性的實地調查，旨在彌補當地黃胸鵐遷徙數據的不足。

項目在2024年10月至2025年5月期間進行，在為期8個月的調查中，最高在清晨時段紀錄到35,940隻黃胸鵐個體，成為緬甸數據庫中第二多的紀錄地區，是黃胸鵐重要的棲息地之一。調查期間還紀錄到82種其他鳥類物種，當中包括當地特有種紋耳鵯，以及屬於「易危」級別的赤頸鶴，這種鳥類在緬甸境內正面臨瀕臨絕種的嚴峻威脅，多樣的鳥類紀錄突顯該地區的豐富鳥類多樣性。

在調查過程中，團隊亦發現多項人類活動對鳥類構成的威脅，防鳥網的誤捕現象普遍，對黃胸鵐及其他鳥類造成傷害；生境的快速轉變與破壞，亦對鳥類生存帶來巨大壓力，這些問題需被更多人關注與重視。公眾教育的部分亦至關重要，團隊不但為當地學生和村民進行多場公眾講座，更設置多張宣傳海報和告示板，推廣鳥類保育。

自2009年以來，香港觀鳥會亞洲自然保育基金每年都會支持區域內不同的鳥類自然保育項目， 2025-26年度的新一輪資助名單即將公布，請大家密切留意。

Coastline Waterbird Survey in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo 2024/25

The project, ‘Involving Local Communities in Conservation and Population Estimation of the Yellow-breasted Bunting in Nyaung Shwe Township, Southern Shan State’, supported by HKBWS ACF 2024-25 was completed successfully in June 2025. A systematic field survey in the Southern Shan State were conducted, aiming to fill gaps in the migration data of the Yellow-breasted Bunting in Myanmar.

The project took place from October 2024 to May 2025. Among the eight-month survey, the highest recorded number reached 35,940 individuals of Yellow-breasted Bunting (Morning count), making it the second-largest recorded population in Myanmar’s database. During the survey, 82 other bird species were also recorded, such as the endemic species Ayeyarwady Bulbul (Pycnonotus blanfordi), and Sarus Crane (VU) which is facing the risk of local extinction, demonstrating the rich avian biodiversity of the area.

During the survey, the team also identified multiple human-related threats to the birds, including bycatch in mist nets and rapid habitat changes or destruction putting great pressure on bird survival. These issues require greater public attention and concern. Thus, the team conducted multiple public talks for local students and villagers and installed several posters and notice boards to promote bird conservation.

Since 2009, the HKBWS ACF has supported various bird and nature conservation projects in the region every year. The new round of ACF 2025-26 will soon be announced—please stay tuned.
