Organization introduction:
Founded in 1957, The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society (HKBWS) started as an ‘ornithological society’ and has developed to an environmental organization devoted to promote appreciation and conservation of wild birds through research, habitat management, environmental monitoring, policy advocacy and education. HKBWS’ goal is to protect the bird paradise where people and birds can live in harmony and nature continues to thrive. HKBWS works both locally and internationally to conserve birds and nature and is a member of Birdlife International, the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
HKBWS is a registered charitable organisation in Hong Kong under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance.
Job Description:
• Responsible for daily accounting duties for GL/AR and AP functions
• Bookkeeping in accounting software system
• Handle full set of accounts
• Prepare journals, voucher input and data entry
• Conduct month end closing and account reconciliation
• Program audit preparation
• Handle billings and receipts
• Verify the accuracy of invoices/expenses claims and other related documents
• Process payments to vendors and reimbursement to staffs
• Other ad hoc projects as assigned
• Report to Deputy Director
• Work pattern: 2-3 days/week
Requirements:
• Associate Degree or above in Accounting or related disciplines
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in NGOs or SME
• Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel and Word.
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
• Responsible, attention to detail, efficient, self-motivated, and has strong communication skills.
