[Sparrow Census 2024 Surveyor Recruitment] Let the common birds continue to be common
The Hong Kong Sparrow Census has entered its 9th year. We are inviting the public to participate in this important bird survey across all 18 districts of Hong Kong. Let's "count the sparrows" together and contribute to the creation of a valuable database for local urban bird research.
As always, the survey routes cover various land-use areas throughout the 18 districts, including industrial areas, residential areas, village-typed areas, agricultural areas etc. This means that whether you live in the city or the suburbs, you can participate!
No bird-watching experience? New to bird surveys?
No worries! The Sparrow Census focuses on promoting citizen science , and anyone, regardless of their bird watching experience, can participate and contribute to the bird research. We will provide online and on-site training for all new participants to prepare for the survey.
