【罕見貓頭鷹現身大嶼！】

繼鳥會調查員早前喺大嶼山記錄到多種貓頭鷹後，最近再記錄到一種不常見嘅貓頭鷹——北鷹鴞???????????????????? ????????????????????????????????！

雀如其名，北鷹鴞嘅羽色似日行性嘅鷹屬猛禽，心口斑紋明顯、眼仔大大。佢係一種小型貓頭鷹，搜索獵物時鍾意企定定不斷擰頭四圍望，動作精靈可愛。

遷徙方面，北鷹鴞屬香港過境候鳥，主要喺東南亞渡冬，今次在港稍作停留補給後，就會飛返去華東、韓國及日本等地繁殖。希望呢隻北鷹鴞可以喺大嶼山叉足電繼續佢嘅旅程啦～

目前為止，我哋嘅大嶼山夜鳥研究已成功紀錄到三種貓頭鷹留鳥，分別係領角鴞???????????????? ????????????????????????、褐魚鴞???????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????、鵰鴞???????????????? ????????????????。

[Say Hello to our uncommon owl visitor!]

Following the previous records of multiple owl species on Lantau Island, our researchers recently discovered a less common owl species, the Northern Boobook ???????????????????? ????????????????????????????????, in the quiet mountains of a small village.

Northern Boobook is a small owl species with feathers that closely resemble diurnal Accipiter. It has distinct markings on its chest, large eyes, and when searching for prey, it tends to stand still while constantly twisting its head to look around. Its movements are agile and adorable.

In Hong Kong, the Northern Boobook is a migratory bird. It spends the winter in Southeast Asia, briefly stops in Hong Kong for refueling, and then flies back to eastern China, Korea and Japan for breeding. We hope that this Boobook can fuel up on Lantau Island to continue its journey. Bon Voyage~

So far, our night bird research on Lantau Island had currently recorded three resident owl species, including the Collared Scops Owl ???????????????? ????????????????????????, Brown Fish Owl ???????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????, and Eurasian Eagle-owl ???????????????? ????????????????, all of which we have previously introduced individually to everyone.
